Psychotherapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families

The courage to be. The grace to return.
*If you have found your way here, there is something you should know:
I am here because I believe in the value of simplicity.
In the depth of the subtle.
In the power of the authentic.
I honor processes and their beauty: what changes, what remains incomplete, what falls apart and blooms again. My work is an interweaving of psychology and spirit, of the wild forest and the human hearth. With the body as our compass and the systemic as our connective tissue, we find that nothing is ever truly lost — only waiting to be integrated.
To inhabit oneself is a holy, imperfect art.
It is not about a destination.
It is not about the performance of "healing." It is about the courage to be.
The grace to return. The decision to inhabit.
I'm Candela — a depth-oriented therapist working in San Francisco and across California.
My approach is psychodynamic, somatic, and transpersonal. I think in systems — attuned to the way personal suffering is rarely only personal. The body carries what words haven't reached yet. And beneath individual wounds, there are often older ones: ancestral, cultural, collective. Part of this work is learning to recognize what belongs to you, what you've inherited, and what is finally ready to be laid to rest.
I work with individuals, couples, adolescents, children, and families. The people who find their way here are often carrying the specific loneliness of migration, the inherited weight of intergenerational trauma, the quiet exhaustion of burnout, or simply a longing to feel more like themselves.
I believe that what enters into relationship, heals.
Many of the people I work with are high-functioning and quietly struggling — high-achievers, artists, caregivers, those navigating the layered worlds of multicultural identity. They've built lives that look fine from the outside. What they're searching for is a different kind of attention: inward, unhurried, real.
This is a space to lay down what you've been carrying. To slow down enough to hear what's actually there.
It takes courage to show up for yourself. I'm glad you did.
